The hilarious Alibi lounge at the Liberty Hotel makes good use of the inside former jail space and its related schtick. Drinks are hilariously themed for characters who've had flirtations with the law, such as the Jesse James (vodka and water); Courtney Love (a grapefruit margarita) or Gordon Gekko (bourbon, vermouth and cherries of course); or for reasons one might get close to the slammer, One Night in Hawaii (coconut milk and espresso vodka), Jailbait (pomegranate mojito) or Rehab (liquor of the moment St Germain with prosecco). An inside space is great for dates you hope might end in a hangover, or upstairs at the hotel (surely you had the Walk of Shame drink for that one). On a given night, the outside patio had a birthday party, some aging hipsters chatting up the sampling waitresses, a cluster of MIT students hoping to get lucky (they did), and some Boston Common red carpet regulars.
