Rao's 3570 Las Vegas Boulevard Caesars Palace 702 731 7267 Rao's is the kind of place where everyone is an uncle. Especially if you're trying to get a table. Made famous by the no-reservations ten table Harlem location where diners hoard their eating rights, it could be said that this restaurant invented exclusivity. We know a woman who blew off her father's birthday - true story - because a friend offered her his standing reservation one night when he couldn't make it to the original location. Now Rao’s principals Frank Pellegrino, Sr., Ron Straci and Frank Pellegrino, Jr. have moved out to Vegas for Rao’s at Caesars Palace. Many of the same traditions will continue to exist, from table rights to the Southern Neapolitan Italian cooking that has been served by four generations of the family. Lemon chicken with Uncle Vincent's famous lemon sauce (told you everyone was an uncle) to the classic veal chop, pan seared, topped with cherry peppers. A little New York but also molto Vegas; this Rao's has an outdoor bocce ball court adjacent to the Caesars Palace Garden of the Gods pool complex. |
