The Brompton Bar & Grill 243 Brompton Road SW3 2EP +44 207 589 8005 Not to be confused with The Brompton Club, this spot is home to London's first dedicated absinthe bar. While during the day they serve the Knightsbridge crowd seasonal bistro food, the zinc bar and it's leather bar stools are now where you'll find those unafraid of the Green Fairy. With a host of cocktails, such as the absinthe caipirihna and the absinthe daiquri, there will also be the classics such as Hemingway’s favourite tipple, Death in the Afternoon (champagne and absinthe Angelique) and Morning Glory Fizz (a whisky, absinthe La Clandestine, egg white, Angostura bitters, soda concoction, originally considered to be a breakfast drink but which we would definitely recommend for the evening!). Go here and channel bohemians such as Oscar Wilde, Vincent van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec. |
