Worship Street Whistling Shop 63 Worship Street EC2A 2DU +44 207 247 0015 We're pretty sure Dickensian times never had this kind of bar, but the owners have reimagined what it would have been like (well, for the wealthy folk anyway!) with whisky sour drinks with lavender and rum drinks with tea, since back then, you probably did need to start at teatime to get through it all. A street lamp (sort of), candle light, exposed brick and stable- like sectioning, along with some machinery (that looks equally like it could make homebrew and torture someone), sets the tone for this spot that also serves fish and chips and pies. At opening time they had an honesty bar - that's right, drink what you like and pay what you think you owe. We're guessing with the magic mushroom soup; maybe the whole formula is you'll be so happy you'll be paying more? |
