Evans and Peel Detective Agency 310c Earl's Court Road SW5 9AQ +44 207 373 3573 The Evan and Peels Detective Agency is not a detective agency at all. Unless you're looking to detect something inside your cocktail. What it is, is a by-appointment bar that is entered via a side entrance off the main road (basically behind Suds). Make an appointment, buzz and announce yourself, and prepare to state your (fake) case (that needs solving). What makes this spot charming is the entire lack of attitude around the staff. While there is a bit of play-acting to be done on entry (and you really should do your part), once inside, they couldn't be more convivial hosts. The quite-big basement is filled with a mish mosh of tables (including an old sewing machine stand) and (fake) oil lamp lighting. All tables are brought warm bread (as they don't have a license to serve without food being ordered) and drinks are strong and tasty. The bar can mix up something special based on the tipple you fancy, which is wonderful as the darkness does make it hard to see their fun drinks menu. |
