Everyone knows that some real estate locations are cursed. Bar after bar fails in that spot. Perhaps that is the reason that Lauri Mulstay, Sky Reiss (Las Palmas) and Ronnie Marino (Whisky Bar) had to pass muster with their landlord’s fortune teller before they could open the scorching success spot, The Bar. The room is completely unrecognisable in its sleek transformation from what used to be dive bar the Ski Room into comfortable cocktail lounge. Mulstay and crew, who met working at Avalon, have managed to create that ever elusive spot, cool but with no ropes. That said, the occasional celeb, perhaps looking to stay off the radar for at least one night, pops in. Heath Ledger, Kirsten Dunst, and Gwen Stefani have all been known to pass under the “Cocktails” sign.
