Sunset Tower 8358 Sunset Boulevard 323 654 7100 This Art Deco underwent a major renovation as NYC City Club owner Jeff Klein took it back to days of old Hollywood, when living was glamourous and Sinatra was king (Page Cavanaugh who played with him performs downstairs.) A truly adult hotel, guests are asked to sign "no crazy party" waivers and good thing too because the elegant decor by Paul Fortune (the guy who did Marc Jacobs' apartment) deserves to stay pristine. In beiges with black and white photos of Golden Era stars, 50 of the 74 rooms are suites with stunning views overlooking downtown L.A. and Beverly Hills or the bustle of the Sunset Strip. Built originally for the town's elite (Bugsy Siegel used to live in the space that's now hot restaurant Tower Bar) guests come here to be near two of the major studios or hideaway in comfort (note the copies of Variety and Hollywood Reporter downstairs.) They might party next door but then escape into the rooms which come with flat screen TVs, iPod speakers and coffee table books about THE business.
