minibar 3413 Cahuenga Boulevard 323 882 6965 Didn’t get enough hors d’oeuvres at your studio’s holiday party? This place is for you. minibar is clever and cute serving up eclectic bits of ‘this’ and ‘that’ (their words not ours) making up a canapé-only menu. The female valets/ greeters are supposed to remind you of the Valley of the Dolls. That combined with a complimentary shot of wine and about ten celeb sightings, you’ll wonder if maybe your director isn’t floating about somewhere. And being located just south of Studio City, s/he probably is. Originally designed by Chef Sharon Hage (Dallas’ York Street) and now helmed by Exec Chef Noah Rosen (Patina) plates travel the Yucatan, Thailand, France, Italy, Morocco, Cajun Louisiana with Venison with Mole Aguilar, Salamb Bombay (That’s right! Almost too cute for words….but not palate… It’s curry- rubbed New Zealand lamb chops with cucumber- mint raita and cilantro chutney) and our favourite, the Don’t Harsh My Mello Stew (dark chocolate soup and homemade marshmallows.) Experts at the super- cute, co-owners Ravel Centeno-Rodriguez and Rebekah Barrow have attracted Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, KD Lang, Kathy Griffin, Jenny Garth, Sarah Michelle Geller, Rosie Perez, Forest Whitaker and even Ed Asner to come in for their tiny plates. |
