The wait can be grueling at this Venice spot that is most known for snottily declining any changes to the menu (gluten problem? allergies? lacto? this spot is not for you.) However if you can accept that, the food is creative and interesting. A roasted peach salad with fresh burrata is drizzled with the nicest balsamic. The smoked trout salad is zesty with grapefruit, avocado and lemon. Squid ink chittara is made crunchy with bread crumbs and chili flakes. The only thing we didn't like was the sweet corn and feta, which reminded us a bit too much of something we could have done with supermarket nibblets. It is certainly not cheap but the ingredients are fresh and the service is friendly and frequent. An added plus to this spot is the lovely garden which is rustic with its uneven ground and irony furniture, that often gets celebs sitting in close proximity to you. (Beyonce, Jay Z, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were at our neighbouring two tables.)
