Open in February '04, Jenny Yip's new restaurant has all the makings of a smash hit. Created by Yip and Amir Ben-Zion, who are both partners in Jonathan Morr Group, the restaurant will have Hong Kong cuisine with push- cart dim sum service, Taiwanese bubble tea, and a little Chinese market - for lunch, dinner and late night munchies. They've brought in China- born chef Vincent Cheng (The Regent Hong Kong and Crystal Palace (L.A.) for the truly classic Chinese menu which includes drunken shrimp, stir fried squid flowers and sea scallops with a black pepper corn sauce and the old standbys: pork buns and Peking Duck. As if the clever, fun and authentic food weren't enough, Yip knows what she's doing having consulted and launched Blue Door at The Delano, Mercer Kitchen in the Mercer Hotel, Townhouse Hotel, Indochine, BondSt., and Wave Department Store in Bangkok.
