Arrive 100 16th Street 305 604 5818 Arrive is the best thing to happen to Miami fashion since Crocket and Tubbs. Just kidding. It’s a lot better than that! The 3000 square foot shop from Dao-Yi Chow, the former Creative Director at Sean John, Max Pierre of Opium Bar and former banker Dennis Jiu is the only place in Miami where you can find goodies from Alexander McQueen, Clarendon, Nike White Label, Cloak, and Commes des Garcons accessories. Chow curates the shop like a travel collection with “apothecary, luggage, gadgets, books footwear and fashion.” Besides the exclusives, they also have Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, Earnest Sewn, Fins, Hussein Chalayan, Loeffler Randall, Stella McCartney and heaps of other musts such as vintage shades (Porsche, Carreras, Boeings, YSL, Gucci, Dior) for the Miami sun. Their specialty it seems will be the collaborations they have with designers to make one of a kind limited editions; Red Monkey, Reebok, and Rod Keenan have all already participated. The “new product” laboratory also likes to play host to underground artists such as Dr Romanelli and Jose Parla. For the opening of the shop, Parla used Romanelli’s collection of vintage leather jackets and sunglasses by Dita (those enormous things that Nicole Ritchie wears) as canvases for the installation. |
