Into the old Veruka and Lani Kai space comes The Dalloway Restaurant and Bar, a lesbian- leaning spot co-owned by ANTM contestant slash banker Kim Stolz and The Real L Word's Amanda Leigh Dunn. Though you would think otherwise in NYC, there are, in fact, not very many chic bars that are girl- friendly this way, so the industrial makeover of this spot could be here to stay. DJ Samantha Ronson played the grand opening with gal- themed songs including Girls by the Beastie Boys and Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman. The cocktail menu is decidely female- friendly but not irritatingly girly with such offerings as the Clarissa & Mary, an evening- take on a Bloody Mary, featuring clear-pressed tomato juice, vodka, peppercorn and celery salt, and the signature Mrs. Dalloway, a take on the classic clover club. Open every night at 5 for dinner and drinks, the spot has plans for weekly girl parties, singles nights and other happenings.
