The new name for 244 West 14th Street could almost refer to the fortunes of this spot that has been Nell's, The Darby, so many things. Fortunately in the hands of The Butter Group, this spot seems off to (yet another) good start. With parties in hand for Rag and Bone, Jeremy Scott, Prabal Gurung, Charm & Chain, what fashion person hasn't set foot through their doors? The striped floors, palm trees, pool table and club chairs give the spot an upper east side feel, though it can be hard to navigate when crowded. And crowded it is often. The bartenders are shockingly friendly and occasional dancing has been known to break out. With veterans of Red Egg and Southside helping them out, we have our fingers crossed that this time it will stick around for awhile.
