Like an incandescent lightbulb that gets brighter the longer it's on, John N. Smythe with Mark Baker consulting is going for the lucky deuce as the space briefly known as Powder comes back with a vengeance. Booking in Wyclef Jean, Roberta Flack and a slew of other acts, the 800 person, 11,000 square foot space is open once again. The white wash room is still large and since the previous incarnation was so short lived, the beautiful leather banquettes are still beautiful. Whether the clientele will be so - and stay so - in the enormous split level club remains to be seen.
