In the spot where short-lived Smith was, is Byron Bates star effort, appropriately called Starfoods. Classic French bistro (frisee and lardon salad, salad nicoise) with a touch of down home American (chicken fried steak, catfish, biscuits) in a design they call "French granny meets modern East Village", we especially like their DJ nights where Shorty has been known to spin. And the board game thing going on. Too fun.
