Sometimes location IS everything. This jewel of a corner is now The Diner; Marc Packer (Tao, Rue 57), Sergio Riva, Mario Riva (Candela), Joonbug’s Ariana Gordon and Shane Neman’s door to the only element that was missing from the all night party MPD: 24 hour comfort food. Up until now, the only quick and casual bite to eat (and sometimes not so quick) was really Pastis so this old timer diner couldn’t be better poised to take a big bite out of the burger, so to speak. Expect partygoers to make the black, and cream enamel floored dining car with its diner booths (and accident-proof plastic laminate tabletops) their home away from home. Wouldn’t mac and cheese and banana bread pudding sound unusually good to you after your long night out? We thought so.
