Bruno Jamais Restaurant Club 24 East 81st Street 212 396 3444 This place is a dream come true for those Francophile Upper East siders who long for the food of Le Bernardin to end in St Tropez music. Okay, so it's not quite as raucous as Les Caves but this beautiful clubby series of living rooms fills up with an elegant, well attired who’s who crowd (Bill Clinton, Keanu Reeves, the entire Forbes richest list….) by around 9 ish having delicate endive and apple salads, lobster bisque, succulent spare ribs over roasted vegetables, and perfect daurade meuniere served on gorgeous Bernardaud china. Various fun music nights such as soul, groove and even a 70s and 80s night (nope this space is not for the starlet generation) and a superb late menu till 4 a.m. make this a one- stop place for your whole evening. We particularly like the champagne dinners they do once a month, a five course repast, each served with a champagne pairing. |
