If you love cheese and crowds, Pulino's is the place for you. It's essentially Pastis or Schiller's (my gosh, doesn't that layout look so familiar) but with pizza. Walls of whiskey for decor along with what appear to be lots of Jersey Shore extras queue up for thin crust pizza, prosciutto boards and bruschetta. The two things that make Pulino's worth a visit are the superbly calm and affable staff (no matter the demanding customers) and the reasonable prices (dinner with a bottle of wine, appetisers, salad and coffee came to $40 a person). Pizzas are exactly as described on the menu (quattro formaggi is super cheesy, a meatball pizza perfectly spiced and thinly sliced, all of them crunchy and satisfying.) Everything else however is a bit of a surprise; not necessarily bad per se but an adventure through the menu. Buffalo mozzarella runnier than expected (though very fresh), a red cabbage salad much cheesier than it would seem with slices of fruit incidental, and a gnocchi appetiser nothing at all like gnocci but more like chicken and dumplings with less sauce. All in all, a fun place to end up for the evening with reservations required about three weeks in advance or about an hour and a half wait for walkups.
