This "Polynesian" themed restaurant might be renamed T.G.I. Hawaii. The multi-level "inspired" dinner hall (and it does feel like a hall as it's drafty) serves up pu-pu platters, large to-share salads, mains such as Golden Chicken (breaded chicken with a mango dipping sauce), eggplant green curry and branzino, all meant to be tropical in nature. In fact, it reminds us of a Wall Streetified version of Boston's The Hong Kong meets Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. All that's missing are the communal Scorpion Bowls for you to catch colds, oops, we mean drink from. Wait. Stop. There are carved out watermelon bowls with multiple straws. And in fact, giving in to that silliness is what makes this spot fun. The drinks come on a magnetised theme menu - you order by number - the majority are delicious. So for those longing for the good old days when you didn't care what communicables your friends had, and need a place for a group dinner, this spot will not only suit just fine, you might find yourself hanging out at the bar over and over. Since it's served up by the Smith & Wollensky folks, it's more tiki palace than tiki shack, though in all honesty, the bill was less than expected. About $60 a person for an appetizer and main, with one drink. (About $12 each for the themed bar cocktails though.)
