Really the food is not the point at Bar Centrale. But to get that out of the way; it's New American. What is the point is this unmarked restaurant (above Joe Allen's) is impossible to get into. (Yes, we know we just made that even harder.) But getting into it is the point, as one night we ran into Julie Halston (Addams Family Values or Bitsy Von Muffling from SATC for those who never hit Broadway), Emily Bergl (Desperate Housewives), Chris Rock, Ellen Barkin, TJ Knight and Stockard Channing. Enough star power in one meal for you? Even the most jaded of New Yorkers will find the sightings here a bit fun.
