The Lamb's Club 132 West 44th Street The Chatwal Hotel 212 997 5262 Located at The Chatwal Hotel, is there anything this 80 seat restaurant and 65 seat lounge doesn't offer? They do breakfast, brunch, tea, dinner, cocktails, pre-theatre, post-theatre, dessert, cocktails; all with wonderful service. Try the Greek yoghurt pancakes with Italian plums and lemon at breakfast; or classics at lunch and dinner such as a grilled hanger steak, the Nicoise salad, a Dover sole with caper meuniere, or a Long Island duck with turnips, figs and huckleberries in a coffee Molé sauce. However our favourite is this spot as a tea destination. With The Palais des Thés teas and such nibbles as cannelés, egg salad sandwiches, a Berkshire pork terrine, caviar and salmon buckwheat blini, and the requisite scones with clotted cream; it's a meal we wish we could have every day. We like the Thés des Lords, the Thé du Hammam, and the five different kinds (five!) of rooibos best. |
