Anne Johnston Albert's widely written about and not nearly mainstream boutique is smaller than her press clips would seem. Since New York is filled with folks who moved here, knowledge that this tiny one room, one rack shop exists is one of those things that will make you feel like a native. The season we stopped by, that rack was filled with fitted corduroy jackets cut into chef's coat shapes and Grecian draped knit jersey tops that felt like t shirts but looked much much sleeker. Many prices from around $100 to the sleekest items higher, in the high $300s, make it so that you shouldn't have to forego meals to look local.
