In this store, Rem D. Koolhaas and Galahad Clark elevate the shoe to art form. After landing on the map with the now-classics Eames and Mobius shoes (the heel on one is after the legendary chair, the other has the iconic spring-esque triangular heel), they moved from Nolita to this spectacular space where the brand's architecturally inspired range really flexes its muscles. Styles have gone from strength to strength. Witness the Fold, a bootie that wraps in one origami fold, or the Lo Res, a shoe that transforms the classic pump into cubist angles that almost seem impossible. Most amazing of all, is that despite the gravity defying angles (such as in Cosmo or Frame), the shoes are comfortable. Covering a range of the inspirational - such as their collaboration with Iris Van Herpen to the practical - why doesn't everyone make boots with pockets? - these timeless pieces come in colours not for the shy, in shapes not for the boring. The store could be deemed a shoe museum, or rather, shoe heaven, because here, you can actually buy the art. We'll take one of everything.
