Experimental Cocktail Club 37 rue St.-Sauveur 011 33 1 45 08 88 09 Sick of wine and cigarettes at the brasserie, then this place is for you. It's cocktails New York style at this not-quite speakeasy (man standing outside and smallish brass sign are the clues it's not quite that secret) where guy's guys such as Quentin Tarantino and Adrian Grenier have been spotted hanging out with a mostly 20 something clientele. It's a small place where childhood friends Romée De Goriainoff, Olivier Bon, and Pierre-Charles Cros decided to import a bit of New York via their favourites, Pegu Club, the Box and Death & Co. Since it can only handle about 40, it's packed on the weekends when nearly twice the amount of people try to get in. Unlike their Manhattan sources, the owners went with a woman bartender. A beautiful one in her 20s. That right there makes this spot very French and not so much the standoffish, 'you'll drink what I make' of their Manhattan inspirations. |
