Steinhart Hotel 952 Sutter Street 415 928 3855 This is where to stay if you think you are going to be in SF for a whole month or more. Built in 1910 by banker, entrepreneur, benefactor to San Francisco's Steinhart Aquarium in Golden Gate Park and renovated by William Sofield (one of our favourite designers who's worked on Ralph Lauren and Gucci boutiques and has a collection with Baker), this pretty place near Union Square and the financial district has DSL lines, walk in closets, and a cute courtyard. At about $2k- 4k a month, for 500-1100 sq ft long term stay apartments, it's not the cheapest rent in the world but then again, it does come with housekeeping, in- house wash and fold, and you don't have to worry about utilities. |
